"...nuclear warfare is not necessary to cause a breakdown of our society. You take a large city like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago--their water supply comes from hundreds of miles away and any interruption of that, or food, or power for any period of time you're going to have riots in the streets. Our society is so fragile, so dependent on the interworking of things to provide us with goods and services, that you don't need nuclear warfare to fragment us anymore than the Romans needed it to cause their eventual downfall."
Gene Roddenberry

Preparedness Resources

This section lists various sources of information and sources of supplies that one would find helpful in preparing a family to cope with disasters and other emergency situations. Web sites that sell supplies and equipment are often good sources of information. Don't dismiss their information just because they have something to sell. While the nature of a list like this implies a certain amount of filtering, if you drill down far enough into the Internet, you'll find bad information and disagreeable beliefs. Caveat Emptor.

This is geared toward those just starting out. Once you get your feet wet, you'll find more than you ever wanted to know by following different links on the Internet.
